Remote terminal units are mainly used in Ring Main Units (RMU), Switching station and sub-station, which monitors the field digital and analog parameters and transmits data to a SCADA master station.
They consist of many circuit cards including a MCU or processing with communication interfaces, and one or more of the following: analog input (AI), digital input (DI), digital output (DO) cards, with a small database for alarming, filtering, trending and other functions complemented with some basic task, and support IEC 61131-3 programming standard for programmable logic controller as well.
Our developed F-RLY600CR remote terminal unit with complete functions can be matched with RMU and substation, and can provide customers with a variety of automation solutions, complying with IEC international standards.
Programmable logic builds up functions by using input, output, and control block diagram, and is used to perform logic desired by users. Through programmable logic tool, various functions such as signal input, command output, BATS solution, inter-lock can be accomplished. Programmable logic is according to IEC 61131-3 standard.
With modular design, MCU, power supply, ACAI, DCAI, digital input and digital output are realized by independent cards separately, which is conductive to the extension and replacement of cards at customer sites, saving customer’s costs and maintenance time.
The remote terminal unit is compliant with IEC 62351 standard, it offers SCADA communication security, and role based access control features to reduce risks from cyber attacks. Secure communication in public networks saves time and money and fulfil highest cyber security standard.
With the support of Horizontal GOOSE Communication, a variety of intelligent distributed distribution network solutions can be realized without relying on the master system, which is applicable to various network topology, and enables the grid to self-heal, meeting customers' demand for a grid with higher stability and reliability.
